Valeria Jaramillo

00002 (1).jpg

Born in Cali, Colombia, in 1991, artist and filmmaker Valeria Jaramillo fashions a universe as eclectic as it is anachronistic through the exploration of various means of expression, all linked by the study of the Aristotelian dilemma of human passions.

Valeria Jaramillo graduated with honors from Javeriana University in Arts in 2012. In 2016, she moved to Paris to complete her master's degree in film directing at the École de la Cité, founded by Luc Besson. Continuing her studies in 2018, she immersed herself in history at Université Paris 8.

Her work transgresses the boundaries of artistic media, embracing cinema, photography, painting, drawing, sculpture, printmaking and writing.

Her flagship series, entitled "LEMONIA: Le royaume des passions", is a graphic work comprising over a hundred ballpoint drawings in a variety of formats. She is also the author of a book of engravings, large-format paintings and a collection of stories depicting the lives of characters from the kingdom of Lemonia.
